Stand in Solidarity with the Racial Justice Coalition and Community to Community on MLK Day

The congregation is invited to join with members of the Racial Justice Coalition, Community to Community, Latino Advocacy and other organizations representing people of color to a demonstration in front of City Hall on Monday January 16th from 12 pm to 1 pm MLK Day.  The City will be holding its MLK Day activities inside City Hall and this demonstration will happen outside. The reason for the demonstration is to increase awareness about the importance of Bellingham becoming a Sancutary City for undocumented people, to end racial profiling by the police, and to implement a citizen review board of the police. Many City leaders have resisted these ideas or claimed they are not necessary, hence the importance of expressing publicly how critically they are needed. Questions?
